Wisconsin Guild of Midwives Fund for Queer, Black, Indigenous & People of Color (QBIPOC) Student Midwives and 1st-Year Midwives
Donor-supported grants for student and 1st-year midwives representing QBIPOC communities in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Guild of Midwives (WGOM) supports the growth and development of a midwifery community in Wisconsin that reflects and serves all people within our state. Toward that end, WGOM administrates a donor-supported fund to which any licensed QBIPOC midwife student or first-year QBIPOC midwife may apply. Grants from this fund may be used at the grantee’s discretion, toward costs incurred as a midwife student or 1st-year midwife.
Application Submission Guidelines
A maximum grant request of $150 is suggested. Requests may or may not be granted, as application volume and funds allow.
Applicants may apply more than once in any given year, though priority may be given to new applicants. A new completed application must be submitted with each grant request.
Eligible Applicants
- Applicant must be a member of Wisconsin Guild of Midwives and serve people living in Wisconsin.
- QBIPOC student midwives must be enrolled in a midwifery educational program or enrolled in the Portfolio Education Process (PEP).
- Applicant must be a Temporary Permit Holder (TPH) or Licensed Midwife in good standing.
- If a grant is needed to afford fees incurred by the above requirements, this should be explained in the grant application; individual exceptions may be made.
Review and Reward Process
Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis and awarded at the discretion of the fund administrator, with Guild board member(s) approval.
Reviewed applicants will be notified of decisions by email or phone call. Grants will be issued via check by mail.
